Mastercard has begun warning people about a security breach that could put up to 40 million of their cardholders at risk for identity theft and fraud. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE COMPANIES?!? How hard is it to SAFEGUARD OUR PRIVATE DATA?!? Prediction: This is a big enough breach to get Congress involved to the point where fines start being levied. From the WSJ

BusinessWeek has a really interesting story on Dov Charney, the CEO of American Apparel. Here’s a guy who doesn’t stick to the corporate culture of button-down, be good, and shut up. Quite the opposite. He appears pants-less in his ads, has had relationships with his staff, and has built American Apparel into a $520 million dollar powerhouse. And of course, he’s being vilified for it. Which, I’m sorry, is REALLY FREAKING SAD. Why do we live in a society where having FUN doesn’t coincide with doing a great job? Bill: Thanks for taking the time for Peter 5! (Ed. note: Bill responded to me with some great free-flow thoughts, I’m just going to leave them as is, instead of putting them into my questions order. I think they come across more as what Bill was trying to say this way.)
