Grubman PR and NASA combine to handle PR for The Sun

Apparently, Lizzie Grubman has decided that the earth’s furnace is suffering from a bad rap, so she’s agreed to handle PR for the Sun.

Of course, as you know, face-to-face client meetings are essential in PR. She’s apparently had one too many of them with her new client.
Damn, girl. It’s called SPF-30, it’s not expensive!

An Open letter to Michael Vick

Dear Mr. Vick:
It would have been very simple to write a brief mention of you, noting that I hope you get the book thrown at you, hoping you get abused and beaten in prison, tortured and eventually left to die just like the animals on whom you wagered… But what would that accomplish?
Rather, I write […]

Back home, for 24 hours, anyway…

Will have a long and interesting post about Michael Vick soon, I promise.
Back from BlogHer, where I did something amusing on behalf of FlavoRX. Also ate good Sushi and got 2 stays closer to maintaining Platinum status at Starwood for another year. Saw Pamela Parker, met some editors from Wiley, (the ones who published "Can […]

Did Fox News Today on the Aquafina story

Did Fox News today - Got a call as my plane was landing in Chicago. 40 minutes later, I was at Fox’s Chicago studio, being put into makeup. (which I forgot to wipe off, which made my client burst into hysterics when she saw me.)
Piece was on Aquafina having to put verbage on their bottles […]

And YOU were there, and YOU were there, And You, and you too!

What was that CBS News Radio 88 slogan many years ago? "Miss a minute, and you miss a lot…"
It’s been quite the week so far. In no particular order, I’m going to randomize a bunch of stuff here and try and get everything caught up. Some PR, some industry, some personal, some other stuff…
First off […]

Looks like we’re back up

Jeez… One little power outage in San Francisco, and Typepad, Technorati, and a bunch of other sites go Pfft.
Had a huge blog post to put up today, but it’s late already, so I’ll do it tomorrow. In the meantime, take a look at what COULD have happened, had it not been such a little outage…

Spending the day muttering like Homer

Remember the episode of the Simpsons where Homer wants to buy a gun but is told there’s a five-day waiting period? (His response: Five days? But I’m mad now!) Anyhow, that’s the same episode where he mutters an extended period of time…
Homer: (walking out of store to his car) Lousy big shot, thinks he’s so […]

Filed under “Are You Freaking Kidding Me?”

From Bloomberg:
"Kid Counselors Wait By Phone In Case Harry Dies."
July 20 (Bloomberg) — A U.K. children’s charity has brought in extra staff to man its phone lines in expectation of a deluge of calls from distraught youngsters if Harry Potter dies.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final book in J.K. Rowling’s […]

Happy Thursday Video

Muhlenberg College’s oldest co-ed a cappella group, The Dynamics, singing Come On Eileen (a medley of two versions originally by Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Save Ferris) at their 2006 Winter Concert.
Just made me smile this morning.
