Jeez… One little power outage in San Francisco, and Typepad, Technorati, and a bunch of other sites go Pfft. Had a huge blog post to put up today, but it’s late already, so I’ll do it tomorrow. In the meantime, take a look at what COULD have happened, had it not been such a little outage…

Remember the episode of the Simpsons where Homer wants to buy a gun but is told there’s a five-day waiting period? (His response: Five days? But I’m mad now!) Anyhow, that’s the same episode where he mutters an extended period of time… Homer: (walking out of store to his car) Lousy big shot, thinks he’s so big ’cause he’s got a lot of guns, if he didn’t have any guns I’d show him a thing or two… (at home, pacing the hallway in front of Lisa’s bedroom) …let’s see him walk into my store and then we’ll see who’s worried about five-day waiting periods…Lisa: Dad…it’s three A.M! From Bloomberg: "Kid Counselors Wait By Phone In Case Harry Dies." July 20 (Bloomberg) — A U.K. children’s charity has brought in extra staff to man its phone lines in expectation of a deluge of calls from distraught youngsters if Harry Potter dies. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final book in J.K. Muhlenberg College’s oldest co-ed a cappella group, The Dynamics, singing Come On Eileen (a medley of two versions originally by Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Save Ferris) at their 2006 Winter Concert. Just made me smile this morning.

Sample: Two Central Park Loop Runs, both run by me, two days apart Controls: Central Park located in New York City during both runs Same sneakers My hair looked good on both days Apart from the remix of “Since You’ve Been Gone,” every other Kelly Clarkson song still sucks as a running song.
