I mean, if you gotta travel for business to Las Vegas where it’s sunny and 100 degrees, what better day to go then when it’s 59 and raining in New York City? (CBS) NEW YORK Don’t forget to bundle up if you’re headed out in New York City today. After all, it is August 21. The city along with the rest of the tri-state region is feeling the chilly effect of a cold front sweeping through the region, accompanied by cool rain showers. Tuesday’s high temperature in Central Park was just 59 degrees. The normal high for today is 82 degrees. The normal low is 67. Highs are expected to be back in the 90s by Friday. Go me! :) [...]

Michael Vick took a plea deal, pleaded guilty, and is going to JAIL. This thrills me to no end. The Virginia Pilot is reporting that Vick accepted a plea deal, giving him 18-36 months in PRISON. Not enough if you ask me, but better than nothing.

"Wait. Strike that. Reverse it." -Willy Wonka. This update brought to you by the fine folks at the TSA, who actually didn’t give me any grief going through EWR security 20 minutes ago. "The TSA. Surprising you every once in a long while." So after Saturday’s kick-ass race, Saturday night found me on the receiving end of a spectacular gift from Sarah, amazing seats to the NY/NJ Metrostars vs. the LA Galaxy, otherwise known as "Beckham’s first game in the US." While the women swooned, I actually enjoyed the Soccer. It’ll never be as huge in America as it is everywhere else in the world, but it’s a really enjoyable sport to watch. I could see having season tickets. Sunday, [...]

Missed a Personal Record today in Central Park by ONE SECOND! Ran really strong for the NYRR Team Championships today – Ran a solid 38:46, or a 7:45 mile – My splits, if you care, were really decent… 7:50, 7:30, 7:42, 7:46, and 7:11, averaging out to 7:45. I’ll take it. One thing I am happy about – check out my heartrate below – that I held an average 162 tells me that my conditioning is paying off – and that my weight is dropping! That thrills me to no end. Also – note that I floored the last mile at a 7:11 – which makes me think it’s possible to do that more – perhaps not for a full [...]

So earlier this week on Facebook, I came across the LaGuardia High School Bike Club. "How cool," I thought. "I have a bike, and I’m a LaGuardia alum! I’ll just email them, and perhaps I can join them for a ride." Stupid Facebook. Well, as it turns out, the club is only open to current LaG students, but that’s ok – the group leader said he’d be happy to meet me for a ride in the park. "How cool," I thought. This will be fun! "How cool!" always seems to get me into so much trouble. I mentioned that this is a high school group, right? Average age, 16? Right. OK, just checking. I’m 35. OK. Just putting that out [...]
