Currently in Washington, DC, about to co-speak to the Capital Communicators Group. I had a bunch of meetings I’d been putting off in DC, so was able to schedule this talk and take the day down here. Anyhow, am going to try and live-stream through Yahoo’s new live-streaming service. So if you’ve nothing better to do around 12:15/12:20pm, log on to http://live.yahoo.com/shankman and you should be able to watch me live – I’m sharing the stage with another speaker – she’ll be going first for 10 minutes, talking about Radio promotion, then I’ll be talking about stunts. Hey, I get a free burger out of it, and can sell some books. There are worse things, I suppose. So if you’ve [...]

I put “downtime” into two different categories. Short-burst downtime, and long-burst downtime. Long-burst downtime, we all know, are the hours between the flight attendant saying “Sir, the doors closed 15 minutes ago, Blackberry off, NOW,” and that first “ka-thump” of the wheels hitting pavement, hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Then there’s short-burst downtime. If you’re connected via an electronic leash (or by more than one, for some of us), short-burst downtime is the 15 or so minutes from the time you enter the subway outside your apartment until you exit the subway outside your office, or the 20 or so minutes when you’re sitting in traffic in the valley without signal, or the “please turn off the transmitter” time [...]

Mind you, though, as I write this, I also have another window open that’s booking a trip to Singapore, so… But anyway… Top 10 signs you travel too much… (Or, top 10 signs you’re me.) 10. You have TripLife.com or Webflyer.com bookmarked under your favorites. 9. You have a widget like Miles Manager that consolidates your entire miles program and you check them every day. 8. You have a favorite airport and know the layout of the airport like the back of your hand. You can articulate easily why this is your favorite airport. 7. You will rather connect to gain miles than flying direct to [...]

So here’s today’s contest for free client Swag… Guess this theme. This theme is from a big company, and it was used probably about three years ago. Great song, and is a favorite of mine. Tell me: The company that used it. That’s it. Easy. Ignore the photos, they’re just there to give you something to look at while you listen to the music and try to guess what it is. Put your guesses in the comments. Winner is the first one to get it right. Have fun!
