A truly spectacular presentation

Have you joined my incredibly non-annoying, once-in-a-while email newsletter?

Eva Ng, the Planning Director at BBDO and Proximity, gave a truly spectacular presentation this morning on “Marketing to 21st Century Humans.” I’m going to try and find a copy of it and put it up here for download. It was spectacular! Kudos to Eva.

Dammit, you’re making it tough not to buy this stuff. Perfect tools for my car-free life in Portland.

I bought a Scottevest to wear to Africa (I climbed Mt. Kili for my 50th birthday!). My only complaint? The learning curve required to get used to the vast number of pockets. I was holding up security lines in airports while I looked for my paperwork. I got my stuff so lost that I finally started keeping my passport and boarding passes in the zippered leg pocket of my hiking pants. I think wearing a Scottevest takes practice. And perhaps some sort of color coding system. And maybe one or two of those “clapper” devices that help you find your missing car keys.

I have been interested for quite some time about the Scottevest line. My trip to Europe was my excuse. I bought the penny coat and the fleece jacket. I agree that there is a learning curve to using the pockets. I would also recommend having the keys in the opposite pocket from the water bottle. I don’t want my electronic key accidentally getting wet. I love both the coat and the jacket. Be wary of customer service, however. Their website recommends ordering both sizes if you are unsure of fit, and returning one. They may have a “liiberal 45-day return policy,” but they will do their best to help you eat up that time. I requested a return number since you may not return items without it. After a full week I had to request again. They have now had my return for more than a week with all required paperwork and yet have to acknowledge it. I am very happy with the items I’ve kept, but not impressed with their customer service. If you don’t like an item return it immediately and be sure you can track delivery.
