Peter, have you checked out the GPS-enabled phones from Verizon? Networks in Motion provides the technology along with Navteq for voice or visual directions. I think it's an extra $10 a month. I'm opting to upgrade to one of these phones rather than buy a standalone GPS device (and not just because my friend works for NIM).

When I went to the doctor last year she took my pulse and said, 'you're brachicardic.' I didn't know what that meant, of course, and was about to freak out when she explained that it was just a low heart rate and very common among runners. I think you're ok, and your heart thanks you :-)

Hey Peter -- while 43 tops me, when I am on the bike a lot my resting heart rate drops below the 50 bpm mark.

A few years ago, I mentioned this to a cousin who was a paramedic, and he said 'wow. if I came to your house and found you with that pulse rate I'd probably medicate to increase it.' But in context, you're fine.
