Yelp is looking for a creative and results-oriented media specialist who can help us scale our local communications efforts throughout the U.S. All domestic media relations are handled in-house and the right candidate will be someone who embraces the challenge of managing projects from concept to completion. If you are someone who desires to be a part of the Yelp team and is wholly dedicated to advancing the Yelp story as we expand at a rapid clip, then this is the job for you! About you:Public Relations. Agency or in-house – at least 3-5 yearsExperienced. Previous work in consumer product PR preferably techAbove normal writing ability. Whip out a corporate press release, then digest it down to 140 characters with Yelp charismaInnovator. Proven success in creating and executing local publicity/PR campaigns in social mediaInterpersonal savvy. Ability to work effectively work with numerous remote colleaguesTactical. Create and archive local media listsEvent planner. Conceptualize, negotiate, wrangle, plan and execute cool, fun and buzz-worthy media tours/events About the job:Develop creative local consumer campaigns that build awareness and drive interest in Yelp!Publicize marketing campaigns and support media outreach at the local levelProvide support to our community management team on corporate communications initiativesMastermind effective social media strategiesManage the master media list for the U.S.Research and develop a master media archiveTravel 40% (read: see the best in the greatest cities in the U.S.!) Other necessary requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or liberal artsSkill with MS Word, PowerPoint and MS ExcelInterviewees will be expected to complete a writing assignment
