PETER SHANKMAN

HARO members are the best, best, best people in the world. Dayna Steele, is a HARO member who one day advertised her new book on HARO. She emailed me after the ad ran, thanking me for the great results – and she asked, “So Peter, why is one of your cats named NASA?” To which I answered, “Well, I sorta like the space agency.” “Oh.” She said. Two days later, I was invited by her to visit when I was in Houston – And by visit, I mean hang out with her extended family – ALL NASA ASTRONAUTS, PILOTS, AND OMG OMG ZOMG! So guess who got to go to NASA today, behind the scenes in Building 9A? Here’s me [...]

Today’s BPAS interview comes from the largest mall in the world, the Mall of America. Bridget Jewell, MOA’s PR Coordinator, was kind enough to introduce herself, along with her partner in crime, Erica Dao, after my keynote at the Minneapolis PRSA, and offer me a guided tour. My ADHD shines through this interview like NEVER before. I mean, come on – It’s a giant indoor space, filled with MILLIONS of shiny things, EVERYWHERE you look. I’m amazed I was able to keep the camera on Bridget. Most of the time. Enjoy!

This was a treat – Thanks to Graham Gillette, at Gillette Strategic Resources, and a bunch of other truly amazing HARO family members, I was able to spend 20 minutes yesterday doing a Buy Peter a Sandwich interview with Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, discussing everything from social media to the digital divide to stealing ideas from Mayor Bloomberg. Thanks to all who helped set it up, and of course, thanks to Mayor Rybak! While I recover and figure out how to write about the crossing the 15k mark for HARO, my obese cats taking over Twitter, and everything else that happened, here’s Down the Shore with Jen’s Jen Miller doing a Buy Peter a Sandwich interview. Enjoy! Find more videos like this on PROpenMic

Hopped the red-eye to London last night for a handful of meetings today. Found Kevin Anderson at the Guardian. Kevin is a corn-fed mid-west boy, transplanted to London, running the Blogs at the Guardian. He talks about the differences between American and European social media, why some people just don’t get it, and of course, cats.
