Google and RSS – Smart idea

Steve Rubel’s Micropersuasion has a good idea – mentioning that Google is using Blogger to power the Google Press Center – so releases show up in RSS.

Helpful for journalists, indeed – I’ll start doing that, as well. Simply posting my client press releases on here – they’ll show up as RSS, making everyone happier, and lives easier.

Wow, Peter, welcome to the blogosphere.

As for RSS and press releases, in the scheme of things, Google is late to offer RSS feeds. DVCO, iPressroom, Nooked, PR Newswire MediaRoom – all offer RSS solutions for press rooms and PR people.

And, when you have technology journalists asking for RSS feeds intead of email or phone calls – see this interview: http://pop-pr.blogspot.com/200.....under.html – PR firms and people need to step to the plate and offer content in all the ways requested by journalists and analysts.

One suggestion is to have the RSS feeds off your corporate site, instead of a blog. It’s a little bit more professional looking.

Business Wire offers rss feed for our news as well. Reporters love it, clients are slowly understanding it. I use my feedreader all day long to monitorifor client and industry news, makes me look like star!
