Happy New Year

To those like me, who are spending this weekend in Temple, may I just wish you a safe, happy, healthy, and prosperous 5767, and to all my friends, Jews and non-Jews alike, may this be a year of peace for all mankind.

I heard that this morning, so Happy New Year!

I could search and discover for myself, or I could just ask: What happened 5767 years ago to start the count? Does the Jewish religion believe the world is that old? Or, is it a bit more complex?

Just a Roman Catholic looking to be a bit wiser,
Mike
