It’s gonna be a good summer…
I control-alt-deleted my brain on Saturday. Twice, in fact.
This winter was way too long, way too cold, and way too depressing. This summer finds me back in hard-core training for the 2008 NYC Marathon, the Arkansas Iron-Mountain Half-Ironman, and a ton of other races. I’m gonna jump as much as I can in the middle of all of this.
For the first time in several months, I’m feeling positive. And it’s good.
Saturday’s jumps are below. Yeah, baby.

Whooosh…up close and personal view of skydiving. Yes the twinge of curiosity DID go off in my stomach. As if it hadn’t already started with the awesome description of “control-alt-Delete” that you did to your brain.

Peter –
I smiled all the way through it.
I’d never jump from a plane — even with 3 parachutes — even from 20 feet off the ground — but it was a vicarious thrill.

Love the guy who look scared out of his wits.

Good video…music is perfect.
I don’t quite understand the perspective. This is a mirror on your headgear? Or a convex lens on your camera? And you were among the last to jump? You were filming those other two coming back and clasping arms with you? Were you out of the plane already?
Seems like a long time before the chute opens. The next thing is a grassy field.
Very cool. Hope that ankle can take all this!

OH, Boy! More power to you. I could never do this, but glad you can and the vid was great. Music is perfect. I remember meeting a guy in a bar, both legs in a cast, he was sitting at the bar with the wheelchair beside him and as we talked, I asked him how the breaks happened, he said, “jumped out of a plane, but my ‘chute didn’t work right.” We became friends, but he could never get me to try a jump. Now, I used to be able land a plane (and take off and fly), b/c I grew up flying in my family’s Cessna 172 Skyhawk, but as for jumping out of one…NEVER. Go Peter!

Incredible – looks like you had a ton of fun! Nice jumps, Peter! Love the combination of music and vid….your moviemaking skills are super. Do it again soon…

WHOA! Love it!

I only jumped once – a tandem. I still have the videotape (obviously before digital… it was a few years ago…). Watching you made me relive it all over. I was on an adreline rush for 3 days afterwards!

Peter,
What a great video and the music was perfect. It was a thrill to watch and I, too, could never jump out of a plane – no way, no how, though, I understand the quest to do something that is scary or challenges you.
I’ll stick to my dirt bike.
Bravo!

You know you are a child of the 80s when you immediately recognize the Hooter’s song from the first three notes…

OK, so I am scared s****less to do it, but this is pretty inspiring. Nice video work considering you are getting used to iMovie. By the way, try muvee.com – it’s a great automatic video+music software – they have a free download for 15-30 days.

Damn if that doesn’t look like a lot of fun — especially being able to ‘fly’ with others in your airspace.
Is it as big a thrill is hitting 50 mph on a bicycle, screaming down a hill, or more so? That’s the closest experience I’ve had to that video.

OMG, that was awesome and the closest I will ever get to sky diving. That video made it look like the world was below you, not just a city. Thank you so much for “taking” us with you. The way you came back in closer and then out from the plane was unreal! Love the music, too.
Have a great summer diving!
