I read about them a year or two ago and thought it was a great idea. I also get at least one call a week that falls into this category and had forgotten about them until now!

It really is very exciting thing to do! I am sure you'll help them achieve what they are looking for. In fact, in my country (India) there are many such people exist - only thing is that they are not under one umbrella!

I think I will learn something from this and may be bring in few independent PR shops in each region under one umbrella and start PRStore India or something... :)

I think many small companies might not even let PR services cross their mind for fear of becoming enamoured with possibilities beyond their fiscal reality.

From my experience in marketing for an architecture firm, I've seen many small projects handed off to a smaller firm just because the work wasn't big enough for us...the problem was, the smaller firm recruited our guy who always sent work their way.

Good luck! It sounds exciting.

No need to defend the relationship. Indeed, shall we update the old saying?

Any PR pro who reps himself has a fool for a client.

Bravo Peter! You've never been one to shy away from a challenge. I agree with you on this one that PRSTore does provide a service that is valuable to many, many businesses. When they rolled out their presence, I was working with a large PR firm (that you referenced above) and immediately discounted them as basically some sort of scam. But like you while running a small business I have a lot of interactions with other small businesses that really don't a full fledged marketing agency. I think the biggest problem might be the name, PRStore. It seems they are more MarComStore-like.
