Pentagon hires ABC Talking Head for PR Value

What do we think of this?

The Pentagon will announce this week that Geoff Morrell, previously a White House correspondent for ABC News, has been hired as the Defense Department’s on-camera briefer, a senior administration official told The Politico.

First glance: Good move on the Pentagon’s part, he’ll be a hell of a lot better on camera than any given General. Other thoughts? Someone at the Pentagon understands the value of good PR.

I think politicians understand the value of PR better than anyone else. They are some of the best spin doctors in the world. In fact, a great undergrad course in PR could be all about PR in politics. I wonder if any schools already have a class like that?
