Did no one get that "abstract busy-ness" is from LA STORY, Steve Martin to Marilu Henner, on all the things she has to do to prepare to go out? Or did they get it a long time ago and I'm just late to the party?

Thanks for the entertaining kick in the pants about Facebook. I went home and told my kids' "I'm getting my own page and I don't want to hurt your feelings but I won't be friending you."

"Ah, that hurts Mom," my 15-year-old daughter devilishly replied.

It took a few minutes longer for my 13-year-old son to get it and then said while patting my shoulder, "that's ok Mom."

So off I go to work on my new facebook page and Rule #1, "Be Different."
Thanks again, Peter.

Maybe it's just my geek showing, but one place where I've seen the term "abstract business" is in the web services BPEL (business process execution language). In that context it refers to the externally observable behavior of a business process. But perhaps that's a little nichey and you refer to something else entirely.

After breakfast, I'm driving to Long Island for a late lunch and early cocktail, along with a little abstract business discussion.
