Last week, Chris Brogan posed for a photo “as @skydiver,” as evidenced below.

While the photo, taken by Becky Johns, is cute, I do believe that there’s something bigger going on here.
I think it’s pretty obvious here: See, Chris Brogan secretly wants to be Peter Shankman, he’s just way too afraid to admit it. Chris, the first step to treating any problem is admitting you have one.
So Chris, I’m going to help you rise, as it were, to the challenge of becoming Peter Shankman.
Chris, I’m taking you skydiving..
Between now and the end of August, you and I are going skydiving together. We’re getting video of it, and we’re posting it online.
To further entice you, if you do this with me, I’ll donate $1,000 to the charity of your choice.
However, if you DON’T skydive with me by the end of August, you’re donating $1,000 to the charity of my choice.
This is one of those moments, Mr. Brogan. Lives change in these kind of moments.
The ball… Or the parachute, for that matter… Is in your court.

PS: Please note that this is categorized in the “humor” category of my blog. While the challenge and call out stand, I certainly don’t think Chris Brogan spends his nights wondering how he can be Peter Shankman.

Hey, are you at least going to let the man jump tandem? I got a tandem jump for my 30th birthday. It was fun to come back on Monday and tell people I jumped out of a plane without a parachute on my back! After all, I didn’t — I had a cute marine strapped to my back, and he had the parachute on his. Big fun! I’d do it again if it wasn’t so spendy. Rather go to a bunch of movies or something… |
