Global Blog Week (Or, how I managed to make everyone hate me)

So it’s Global PR Blog Week.

They asked me to post something.

So I did.

Because, you know, not enough people in the industry didn’t like me to begin with.

You’re full of shit – everyone does not hate you!

Thanks for keeping it light, something I wish I was better at myself.

The Internet is the greatest soap box ever invented. You can shout from the hilltops — even though no one is really listening.

We’re not full of shit (other than a few of us). It’s just that blogging brings out the obsessive-compulsive in each of us, though more so for the Type A bloggers you note.

Not all of us PR’s are full of shit … some of us just don’t do well with Taco Bell 1/2-pound burritos, that’s all.

Seriously though, I’ve said it before and will keep saying it – bloggers who can’t write about anything other than blogging are boors. Who wants to read that drivel? If you want blogging and other “micro-media” to catch on, you’ve got to find a way to engage people and encourage them to respond.

Dialog is the key to success in this media – that’s what makes it so intriguing to PR’s who view their job not so much as “selling” a story to the press as “sharing” their story with the public.

Keep doing PR Differently, Peter, you’re an inspiration to us all. Thanks!
