Pitch a good story, to the right editors, and you’ll land the placement.  Of course, it always helps when the editors are intelligent, and get the story you’re trying to pitch. If they understand how you’re pitching them, and they get the logic you’re using, it can be a match made in heaven. Much like this one was.
